My name is Wayne Simmons, and I’m a passionate Computer Science student driven by a love for technology and the impact it has on our lives. Since my high school days, I’ve been captivated by the world of software engineering and machine learning. My goal is to become a machine learning engineer, developing solutions that make a real-world impact. I’m excited about how AI can change lives, and I’m dedicated to learning everything I can about it.
My Story
My journey began in 10th grade with an AP Computer Science class where I built a game from scratch in Scratch, sparking a love for creating through code. Over the years, I’ve continued to expand my skills, taking on projects that challenge and inspire me. From creating a password generator in C++ to building a message translation app in Flask and Python, I’ve applied my knowledge and pushed myself to learn new tools and concepts. Each project has taught me something invaluable about development and the impact of technology. I want to use my skills to help make life a little better, and a little cooler, through machine learning.
My Passion
Machine learning excites me because of its potential to shape our world in incredible ways, from NLP-driven voice assistants and LLMs like Siri and ChatGPT to advancements in image recognition. I love the problem-solving side of coding, especially when it involves breaking down complex challenges. Whenever I’m learning a new concept, I start by mastering the core building blocks, making sure I understand every detail, and breaking down big problems into manageable parts. As I continue to build my knowledge, I’m committed to sharing my journey—whether through my website or YouTube channel, where I dive into machine learning topics, LeetCode problems, and my personal experiences as a student.
